What Ramp Hero can help with

From a small doorway lip to a full access route.

Different ramps solve different problems. The tiles below help you point us towards the likely answer before you complete the form.

Installed ramp systems

For larger level changes, outdoor access, public entrances, care settings, modular buildings and longer-term needs.

Portable ramp products

For occasional access, visits, temporary use, vehicles or locations where a fixed ramp is not right.

Threshold and pathway access

For doorway lips, uPVC thresholds, small steps, uneven routes, gravel, grass and patio access.

Real access examples

Ramp solutions are chosen around the place, the person and the job.

These examples show the kind of routes Ramp Hero can help with: homes, public buildings, steps, schools, colleges and surfaces where grip and everyday use matter.

Public building wheelchair access ramp

Public buildings

Access routes for entrances, workplaces, community buildings and public-facing sites.

Green step unit with handrail access

Step units and rails

For ambulant access, safer steps and combined access where a ramp is not the whole answer.

Ramp and access surface for schools colleges and universities

Schools and colleges

Practical access support for education sites, temporary buildings and changing access needs.

Pet and child friendly anti static access surface

Family friendly surfaces

Options where grip, everyday foot traffic, pets, children and practical use all matter.

CAD design and precision

For more involved access jobs, the route may need proper measurement and layout planning.

Some jobs need a visit. Simpler products may be quoted from photos, measurements and a quick discussion.

That may be product supply, fitted installation, handrails, steps, a video survey or a full site survey.

Trackway and pathways

For grass, gravel, temporary paths, garden routes, outdoor events and surface access problems.

Plain answers

Ramp questions, answered simply.

The correct ramp depends on the person using it, the mobility aid, available space, gradient, location and whether the answer needs to be temporary, removable, relocatable or fixed.

How do I know what ramp I need?

It depends on the height, space, doorway, surface, mobility aid and how often the ramp will be used. A small doorway lip may only need a threshold ramp. A larger outside access route may need a modular ramp with platforms and handrails.

Do I need a full survey or a video survey?

For smaller jobs, thresholds and straightforward access problems, a free quick video survey is often the best starting point. Larger modular ramps, public access routes, complex gradients, turns, landings, handrails and step units may still need a full site survey.

Can you help with different ramp systems?

Yes. Ramp Hero can help with metal modular ramping, plastic modular ramp systems, threshold solutions, portable folding ramps, channel ramps, steps, handrails and pathway access.

Can a threshold ramp solve a doorway problem?

Often, yes. Threshold ramps are useful for small changes in height at doorways, uPVC thresholds, patio doors and internal transitions. The doorway still needs to suit the ramp and the person using it.

Can I use a portable ramp instead of a fixed ramp?

Sometimes. Portable ramps are useful for occasional or temporary access. They are not always the safest or easiest option for regular independent use, higher rises or exposed outdoor routes.

Can you help with handrails or steps as well?

Yes. Some access problems are better solved with step units, handrails or a combined ramp-and-step design so wheelchair users and ambulant users are both considered.

Can modular ramps be moved or reused?

Some modular systems are designed to be altered, moved or reused where suitable. Whether that works depends on the product, the site and the new access layout.

What information should I have ready?

Useful information includes the access location, number and approximate height of steps, doorway width, photos if available, the mobility aid used, whether the ramp is temporary or permanent, and whether other people still need the steps.
